The Bulte Group started off
as a small family company nearly 20 years ago and
since then has grown and diversified into one of
industrial and commercial services to high-end specialist
consumers.
Founding director Peter Bulte, developed the business from a long history of
service
provision to the Southern Ocean Fleet of commercial mariners
and government agencies.
From a slipyard
providing repair and maintenance services to commercial fishing vessels
the company started to construct steel trawlers, barges
and ferries as well as providing
general industrial services.
A retail outlet was added to
the site to provide the local boating and fishing community with
supplies and equipment, and subsequently also with small
watercraft. From this base the
company started its largest spin-off venture; Aquaterro, which sources and supplies
specialist safety and survival equipment to the most demanding
customers in the country.
The company has expanded and
changed over the last two decades and will continue to meet
the new challenges ahead.
